In 2010 an idea was sparked by a passionate dedicated group of Gold Coasters with backgrounds in the arts and marketing – bringing this idea of creating a festival made by artists for artists – our vision has grown and will continue to grow with the embrace and support from our community.  The Gold Coast Art Festival was established for all people, creative in spirit. who enjoy taking risks, daring to awaken and indulge their imaginations, entertaining the desire for uniqueness in a world of similarity.

Entering its 4th year the GCAFest celebrates and presents art in all shapes and forms. Moving from our birth place of Southport’s Broadwater Parklands – we have excitedly embraced our new location at Evandale Park, Arts Centre Gold Coast.  Settling into the Cultural Precinct of our beautiful city.

innoviate With a strong sense of the fundamental importance of social and cultural inclusion in the society we live, we expand on this importance through many opportunities: implementing a three week long free art festival for the community – presenting Stone Song Sculpture Symposium: utilising empty spaces to promote our creative community: support the recognition, the need and the ‘putting into action’ of high level quality urban art for our city and the continuous discovery of hidden opportunities for our creative community to work in conjunction with.

An array of pop up, artist run galleries have speckled Southport and Broadbeach promoting both emerging and well established artists who display original artwork in pursuit of their chosen creative direction.

StimulateDuring the festival – from 8th – 23rd March 2014, the GCAFest will present the Stone Song Sculpture Symposium. An exposeof 5 national and international master sculptors displaying their techniques in creating large outdoor public art.

Southport’s laneways have unexpectedly burst into an outdoor urban gallery with commissioned work from a selection of our local street Artists.

As a Non-For-Profit organization the GCAF relies on the support of our members, our business community for in-kind and financial donations and government agencies.
